The English Department conducted a series of engaging language activities for students of Grades 1 to 10 to enhance their vocabulary, grammar, reading, and speaking skills.
Grade 1 students participated in the “Word Wizard” activity to improve their basic vocabulary and spelling.
Grade 2 students enjoyed the “Role Play” activity, which helped them build new words by changing letters and strengthening their phonics skills.
Grade 3 students took part in “Show and Tell,” which developed their confidence and communication abilities.
Grade 4 students engaged in the “Punctuation Police” activity to identify and correct punctuation errors, thereby improving their grammar skills.
Grade 5 students participated in a “Reading Relay” to enhance their reading fluency, pronunciation, and comprehension.
Students of Grades 6, 7, and 8 participated in the “Pick and Speak” activity. In this activity, students randomly picked a topic and spoke about it for a short duration. This helped them improve their spontaneous speaking skills, vocabulary usage, confidence, and stage presence.
Students of Grades 9 and 10 took part in a “Debate” competition. They expressed their views on various thought-provoking topics, presenting arguments both ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion. This activity enhanced their critical thinking, public speaking skills, reasoning ability, and teamwork.
Overall, the activities were interactive, engaging, and educational. Students actively participated and benefited from the experience. The program successfully achieved its objective of making English learning enjoyable and meaningful.
